Gorgeous Wedding at Beth Tzedek :: Toronto
Alison and Matt had one of the craziest and most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to. They exemplify that it is not about what happens in life but how you deal with it. Pretty much as soon as Alison reached the front of the aisle and got to the front the power for the entire area went out. With few windows we were truly left in close to pitch black. The rabbi at Beth Tzedek took it in stride and continued with the ceremony by iPhone light.
The power didn’t come back on for another 4 hours. In that time the band rocked out with an unplugged set, wailing as loud as they could through megaphones. We lent some of our battery powered lights to the kitchen staff to cook by, and every single guest partied like it was nobody’s business. But by far the two people who made the most of it were Alison and Matt who didn’t let anything get in the way of having an incredibly memorable wedding.
We had some really unique opportunities, like when all the guests used their phones as candles, to light their way back down the aisle, or allowing the single light the rabbi was using illuminate the entire room. We also got the images Alison and Matt expected, with battery powered lights, we only allowed the circumstances to affect the images when it would enhance them.
I hope you enjoy the photos and see that no matter what happens, nothing can stop a wedding that was meant to happen!
Here is where the lights go out. I love the Art Nouveau style at the ceremony room in Beth Tzedek.
Here is where the lights finally came back, I love everyones excitement!
