Modern Jewish Wedding in Toronto at Shaarei Shomayim: Shira and Ari

To say that Shira and Ari had a picture perfect modern Jewish wedding is an understatement — and coming from us, that says a lot! This stunning couple exchanged vows on a beautiful summer day on June 26, 2017. From beginning to end, their loved emanated from every shot we captured on their special day. Shira cuddled with her pup to calm her nerves before saying I do, and Ari enjoyed a sweet note from his bride-to-be before heading down the aisle. After Shira got ready at her family home surrounded by her bridesmaids and all her loved ones, she met Ari in the backyard to share their first look. An emotional moment for all, there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen — and it definitely wasn’t a moment that’ll soon be forgotten.

Shira and Ari then headed to Alexander Muir Gardens for some portraits in their lush garden. They couldn’t have been blessed with more beautiful weather for their big day, and got some stunning photos against the summer foliage. After taking their last snaps before becoming man and wife, their pair made their way to Shaarei Shomayim where they would tie the knot.

The Bedeken, a traditional ceremony in Jewish weddings in which the groom veils his bride, was another emotional moment that left everyone in tears. As Shira sat surrounded by all of her loved ones, Ari placed her veil onto her in a breathtakingly beautiful moment. As family members eagerly looked on, it was clear that the two couldn’t wait to exchange vows.

After officially becoming man and wife while encircled by their loving bridal party, Shira and Ari sealed their vows with the sweetest, most ecstatic kiss guests had ever seen. They then descended into the reception area to finally celebrate their nuptials.

Keeping in theme with their insanely adorable admiration for each other, they shared a perfect first dance — Ari couldn’t resist picking his new bride up and swishing her, and her gown, across the dance floor.

Weddings like Shira and Ari’s are why we’re in the business; it’s an incredibly beautiful thing to be able to witness a love as pure as theirs, and take photos that’ll capture their emotions for years to come.
