Chinese Traditions and Beautiful Details at Eagles Nest Golf Club

Olivia and Chris had a gorgeous wedding at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Richmond Hill. It was so exciting to work with them planning the wedding for nearly 2 years. We had done a super fun engagement shoot already at the Scarborough bluffs and after that I knew being with them on their big day would be an amazing experience.

We started early in the morning with tea ceremonies at each of their houses. I love photographing the traditions of the day and the tea ceremony is no exception. In a tea ceremony the couple present tea to family members who in turn give them gifts. It’s a great way for us to get to know the whole family right at the start of the day.

Even though the day is often a bit crazy when we do tea ceremonies because of the changes of outfits I really try to make time to get portraits of the couple in these outfits as it can really be something special. We usually do this in or around their parents house which is really nice because it allows us to infuse their personal space into the portraits.

From there we headed to Olivia and Chris’ new house to get ready for the ceremony. They had just moved in and it was so nice to be able to capture what would be their first home together. I love bringing together everyone there to help and be involved. Some of my favourite photos are of Olivia’s mom helping her get into her dress.

From there we headed to Eagles Nest Golf and Country Club for the ceremony which was beautiful outside in the summer. After that we ran away for some portraits of them and their bridal party. Eagles Nest has so many great spots where you really feel at one with Nature and like you can really escape. They also have gorgeous indoor locations.

From there we headed inside for dancing. At the end of the night Olivia changed into a striking red dress. As soon as I saw it I had to steal them away for a quick moment to get a dramatic portrait. We ended the night with breathtaking fireworks over the lake.
