A teenager in her sophomore year in high school, Mena knew photography was her passion as soon as she saw her photos appear from nothing in the dark room of the photography studio at school. From then on, she knew photography would be a part of her life, no matter where she ended up.
Mena views weddings as a magical time in ones life, and always feels honored when someone trusts her to capture the memories of their big day. With a natural, clean style and an editorial flair, Mena helps couples feel at ease in front of the camera, and look natural with their poses.
Dedicated to her craft and extremely talented in wedding photography, Mena was awarded Top 14 wedding photographers in Toronto for 2018 by Eventsource she has been awarded Best in Show by the Rotary Club, been featured on the cover of the Applied Arts Magazine, and her work has been published in Elegant Weddings, Wedluxe and Auxiliary Magazine. She has also photographed in Mexico.
MENA’S PRE-WEDDING RITUALS
In preparation for a full day of shooting, Mena powers up in the morning with a big cup of coffee or tea followed by a good breakfast. “I usually have no time to eat during weddings, so I always make sure to get a good night's rest, and a solid breakfast the next morning to set me up for the day!” Mena is on her feet from the beginning of the day until the end when she shoots a wedding to make sure she captures all the details of the couple’s big day, being careful not to miss any of the little moments.

She vehemently pursued her passion, and actually got her start as a photographer earlier than most—one of her high school teachers took note of her talent, and hired her as a second photographer for his wedding when she was just 16. After feeling the rush of capturing the moments of one of the biggest days of her teacher life, she was hooked. A self-proclaimed romantic, she wholly believes in happily ever afters and absolutely adores seeing people happy in love.

TELL US ABOUT ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE SHOOTS
I cherish all the weddings I photograph, but there was one ceremony in Niagara-on-the-Lake that stands out among the rest. We were at a gorgeous vineyard that had a tree swing the bride really wanted to get some shots on. After we were finished with the portraits, we took a few photos of the usual poses; her sitting on the swing, her new husband pushing her. While still on the swing, she said “Wouldn’t it be cool to stand on this?” and without missing a beat, I agreed “Yeah, it would!” She got up on the swing in her gown and swung back and forth, with a look of euphoria on her face as her dress billowed in the wind. This is one of the moments I’ll always hold close; the wedding day can be such a stressful time for the bride and groom, they often don’t have the chance to stop and really be present and enjoy their big day. I could tell that this bride, even it was just for a couple of seconds, was able to forget about the little things and truly enjoy one of the most momentous days of her life.
